Macon County Enhanced 9-1-1 is a Joint Communications Center providing 9-1-1 emergency telephone and dispatch services of emergency responders in Macon and Knox County Missouri. We are currently providing part time 9-1-1 emergency telephone and dispatch services to Schuyler County during a staffing crisis.

Exciting things are happening in our dispatch center, with the installation of new Next Generation 911 telephone equipment (NG911), replacment of radio consoles, and upgrades to mapping and CAD software, and a high speed interconnection between our center and NECOMM(Marion, Lewis, and Ralls Counties)  Our new system will be connected to NECOMM's 911 phone and radio system and will be able to provide backup dispatch services for their system, as well as receive backup dispatch services to our phone and radio system from them. Scotland and Schuyler County have installed 911 telephone workstations that  operate off of the NG911 back room equipment in Macon, being able to answer their own 911 calls through this regional plan, with each station in Macon, Scotland and Schuyler counties being able to provide backup services to each other.

New 911 call delivery technology (NG911 Core Services) has been installed and is described in the "Next Generation 9-1-1 Implementation Regoinal Project" section.

The replacement and upgrades to our system has been made possible through a Federal NG911 Grant and the Missouri 911 Service Board's grant program.
