Warren Gene "Jack" Lee

June 17, 1927 - February 22, 2014

Jack served on the founding committee to bring a 9-1-1 center to Macon County, and was later appointed as one of the original 9-1-1 board members by the Macon County Commission.  He spent countless hours working for community betterment including serving on the Ethel City Council, the Samaritan Hospital Board, was a member of the Macon County Historical Society, and wrote a book, "A History of Ethel." 

James Mikulin "Mike" Miller

December 24, 1952 - March 23, 2014

Mike also served on the founding committee to bring 9-1-1 to Macon County, and was appointed as one of the original 9-1-1 board members by the Macon County Commission.  He too spent countless hours helping the community.  Mike was the original First Responder for Macon County, and served as a Volunteer Fireman for the Bevier Fire Department for 30 years.  He was active in the Elks Lodge in Macon, the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and Masonic Lodge.  Mike was also a guardian for numerous Honor Flights for veterans.

Stanley B. East, Jr.

August 24, 1937 - May 20, 2018

Stan was also a member of the founding committee to bring 9-1-1 to Macon County, and was also appointed as one of the original 9-1-1 board members by the Macon County Commission. He also was very active in the implementation of adding Knox County to our system, so their citizens could have 9-1-1 emergency telephone services. Stan too was very active in the community, serving on the LaPlata Fire Department for 53 years, and the Laplata Masonic Lodge for 51 years.  Stan was one of the first EMT's in Macon County, and taught numerous CPR, EMT and Paramedic classes.

Peggy A. Burkhardt

July 13, 1965 - August 1, 2019

Peggy began her career as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher in May 1996.  She learned the role of a 9-1-1 dispacher quickly, and in 1999 took on additional roles of staff scheduling, and was a backup to the Director for assigning addresses and performing other office duties.  Peggy was named the first Assistant 9-1-1 Director in 2011 by the 9-1-1 Board.  Peggy worked diligently to assure proper staffing levels, while attempting to honor the staff's time off requests. She gave 23 years of selfless service to our agency. Peggy was also involved in several cancer awareness organizations, such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Relay for Life, and several others.
