DIRECTOR'S OFFICE

Michael Kindle is the Director of Macon County's Enhanced 9-1-1 system.  He is the personnel manager over the entire staff and is responsible for the overall operation of the 9-1-1 telephone and radio systems, answering to a seven member board of directors.

The director's office is also responsible for the maintenance of Macon and Knox County Master Street Address Guide (MSAG) coordinating this guide with the postal service, local phone companies, and municipalities in incorporated areas,  assuring that the digital and printed maps used by the 9-1-1 dispatchers and emergency response agencies stay up to date.

The director's office handles coordination of dispatching services and responses between the various agencies, assuring that each area of both Macon and Knox County will receive a coordinated response for any type of emergency that might occur, while all statutes and administrative rules are met by the dispatch center.  All telephone and radio traffic are recorded on a digital recording system, and requests for dubbing and responses to subpoenas are handled through this office.

The director's office also handles the day to day business operations of the agency, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll etc.
